What is CareerCon?

CareerCon is an immersive, experiential cohort-based career matching event for our members who are interested in industry and/or government careers. This event will be held digitally from April 23 - 25, 2024!

This event will host sessions from industry and government experts and our own SACNAS members who work in these sectors. Get insight into the workplace, and learn about current internships and positions you can apply for, all while expanding your professional skillset and network for your future career.

SACNAS Undergraduate, Postbacs, Graduate Student, Postdoc, and Early- or Mid-Career Professional dues-paying members are eligible to participate!

When & where will CareerCon take place?

CareerCon will take place digitally the week of April 23 - 25, 2024, with approximately a 4-hour time commitment each day of the event.

Why should I attend CareerCon?

CareerCon is intended to fundamentally reimagine the career fair while bringing talent development and matching into the 21st century. CareerCon is a cohort-based career event that will engage high-caliber STEM career seekers in an immersive program, providing innovative tools for bringing your whole self to STEM, recognizing your strengths, and the building skills necessary to thrive in private industry and government sectors. Additionally, CareerCon will create unique engagements between career seekers and our participating partners who are looking to hire diverse STEM talent!

What SACNAS partners are participating in CareerCon?

Our current industry and government partners include the Allen Institute, Bristol Myers Squibb, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Gilead, GSK, NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), US Department of Energy, Office of Science, ICON plc, Wells Fargo, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Peace Corps Agency, and ETS.

Our partners will come to CareerCon with open positions ranging from undergraduate internships to postdoctoral work, all the way to early/mid-career research and development roles.
