Dr. Erika Camacho Awarded Great Minds in STEM Education Award

Dr. Erika Camacho, SACNAS Board Member and 2017 Linton-Poodry SACNAS Leadership Institute (LPSLI) alumna, has been awarded the Education Award by Great Minds in STEM/HENAAC. Dr. Camacho is currently an Associate Mathematics Professor at Arizona State University and a long-time SACNAS member.

Dr. Camacho is a first-generation college graduate who was inspired by her high school algebra teacher and renowned Bolivian educator, Jaime Escalante, to pursue a career in mathematics. Today, she is a mentor to hundreds of underrepresented minority students, propelling them forward by believing in their endless potential to succeed in STEM.
