Who We Are
SACNAS is a society of scientists dedicated to fostering the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists—from college students to professionals—to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership. The organization serves over 25,000 students and professionals each year with its conference and year-round programs, and thrives on the dedication and support of hundreds of volunteers.
Members & Partners
At the heart of SACNAS is our membership which includes a wide-reaching network of individuals and institutions who are dedicated to the SACNAS movement and are passionate about diversifying science. SACNAS is a community; a family. It provides a structure of support for thousands of students and professionals who share similar struggles and who enjoy coming together to share their science and celebrate their successes.
People take part in SACNAS because they can both benefit from and contribute to our work. A few core characteristics of our members & supporters include:
- a passion for giving back to the next generation of scientists
