Assistant professor of geoscience, surficial processes, and sustainability. The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at California State University East Bay invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track position in Environmental Geoscience to begin in Fall 2016. The successful candidate will be broadly trained in geoscience, with a specialization related to surficial processes and sustainability, such as the effects of landslides and mass wasting, sea level rise, urban riparian landscape restoration, etc. The person filling this position should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate courses in the department’s Geology and/or Environmental Science programs, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates with expertise and advanced degrees in Earth science, environmental science, geomorphology, civil/environmental engineering, etc. are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a Ph.D., outstanding teaching skills, and a commitment to pursue an active research and teaching program in partnership with other faculty engaged in sustainability issues at CSUEB.
