Get Involved
As a society of scientists, SACNAS actively engages our dedicated community of SACNISTAs (volunteers, members, mentors, chapter members, corporate/institutional supporters, etc.) in our work and mission. SACNISTAs are the lifeblood of SACNAS.
Changing the Face of Science One Hour at a Time
Annually, the SACNAS community contributes over 20,000 hours of volunteer service throughout the course of the year—mentoring students on their research abstracts; helping members connect with scholarly opportunities; serving as chapter advisors; organizing regional meetings; advising the organization via committees; writing for SACNAS publications; sharing wisdom and guidance with mentees and peers; and so much more.

Getting Involved on the National Level - Service and Advocacy
In addition to our direct service programs for students and professionals, SACNAS strives to be a national resource in informing public policies and governmental funding as related to minorities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through our Washington, D.C. office, SACNAS is helping address science policy, impacting not just one person at a time, but on the large scale level to help ensure the building of a competitive and diverse U.S. STEM workforce.
