Academic Specialist: Agricultural Industries Coordinator

The Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Michigan State University invites applications for an Academic Specialist, one-year appointment, renewable annually based upon performance and availability of funding. This position will provide leadership for the Agricultural Industries Certificate Program. Responsibilities include: (1) counseling and advising students in the Agricultural Industries Program; (2) student recruitment and internship placement; (3) teaching courses in leadership, career development, communications, and possibly developing and teaching other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise and/or as needed by the program; (4) supervising student internship experience; (5) fostering a working relationship with the agricultural industry, high school counselors and teachers, and diverse communities throughout Michigan; and (6) evaluation of the Agricultural Industries program and curriculum. The position is available May 1, 2012.
