Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor
Two Assistant/Associate Professor Positions in Department of Biomedical Science
The University of Minnesota Medical School-Duluth invites applications from outstanding biomedical scientists for two tenure track faculty positions. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M. or equivalent doctoral degree in a biomedical science (e.g., Anatomy, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Immunology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology) and at least two years of post-doctoral experience with documented evidence of strong scholarly activities and communication/teaching skills.
Successful candidates will be expected to establish a productive, externally funded research program in a basic medical science field that is consistent with the mission of the school and complements activities of current faculty in areas such as cancer, cardiovascular, neural or metabolic disease (e.g., diabetes, obesity). Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to the department’s educational program at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels and to provide service to the department, the institution and the profession.
The school’s mission is to be a leader in educating physicians dedicated to family medicine, to serve the health care needs of rural Minnesota and American Indian communities and to discover and disseminate knowledge through research. The school is part of the University of Minnesota Medical School, which is one of the six health sciences schools in the University of Minnesota's Academic Health Center. It is located on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus overlooking the western end of Lake Superior.
