Learn More About Chapters
SACNAS chapters throughout the nation provide year round, local support, strength and leadership development for students and professional scientists from underrepresented backgrounds. Chapter members are encouraged to share information, resources, and peer-to-peer mentorship, as well as to take part in opportunities to give back to their communities and develop leadership skills.
NEW! Professional Chapters give professionals the opportunity to promote the mission of SACNAS at the local and national level to offer educational and professional development resources and opportunities.
SACNAS Student Chapters provide year-round mentorship and networking opportunities for SACNAS members. Through participation in SACNAS chapters, students, postdocs, faculty, and chapter advisors gain ongoing, local support for their development as scientists and science leaders.

Requirements to Remain Active
Chapters must submit their Annual Report and Mid-Year Report in order to retain its active status with SACNAS. Students who want to reactivate a chapter at their school must first have an engaged and knowledgeable advisor before contacting SACNAS National. Please contact [email protected] to learn what you need to reactivate a chapter!
On behalf of the SACNAS Chapters Committee, we would like to thank every chapter who submitted their annual report and continues to provide the nation with year-round, local support, strenth, and leadership development for students from underrepresented backgrounds. We would like to recognize the following 13 chapters who displayed outstanding work for the 2014-15 academic year. Click here to see our: 2015 Chapter Reception Presentation, and Congrats to all!
